Since July 2008, our gallery showcases monthly exhibitions of local and international professional and amateur visual and performing artists of different backgrounds. Besides our active gallery programs, our premise holds five artists-in-residence studios which also act as workshop spaces. The artists-in-residents continuously exhibit their work in the gallery and partner with other venues to promote their work and the mission of dcac.

With support from Genesis Family Center and other private donors, dcac offers artists-in-residence and volunteer-run, Saturday workshops for at-risk foster youth and young adults with mental health challenges. In addition, dcac builds their confidence and trust by showcasing their work. The workshops offer instruction in painting, drawing, sculpture, acting, photography, documentary film, guitar, creative writing, poetry and beading Thanks to Genesis continued support, we have been able to enrich many students lives through art and more importantly, provide a safe, nurturing, and creative environment for them.

The Downtown Community Arts Collective operational and program expansion goals depend solely on volunteers, community partnerships, grants, corporate sponsorship, and private donations. Your generosity will support our mission and allow us to continue to enrich youth, young adults and the community at-large through art.
